Recommended Shoes

In addition to SAS and Rockport shoes, we highly recommend New Balance 800 or higher. The shoes in the Stability category have a good shank within the shoe and this would help most with arch and heel pain.

For sandals, we recommend Mephisto, Echo, and Birkenstock as these shoes have arches within them

We also recommend high top rigid boots that help a lot to control foot conditions such as ankle pain and instability, arthritis in the foot and ankle, Achilles tendonitis, and posterior heel pain. Boots should be firm around the ankle and the rigid sole. Boots can be purchased at Oshman's, Academy, Bass Pro and Red Wing stores.

It's best to take out the insert within the shoe and place your arch supports inside before you purchase the shoes. Buy shoes at the end of the day when your feet are swollen. Make sure that they are not ill-fitting and have at least 1-thumb press at the end of the shoes for comfort. If the shoes are too loose, it will cause friction.
