Timothy C. Abigail, DPM, FACFAS - Biography

Dr. Abigail has been in private practice in Dallas since 1989. He had graduated Cum Laude in biological science from the State University of New York at Brockport. There, he was a starting member of a national championship in Division III wrestling team. He graduated in the top of his class from the Temple School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia where he received several academic scholarships. He completed his surgical residency in a prestigious program at Lakeview Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Abigail has gained additional training and certification in Endoscopic heel surgery, arthroscopic ankle surgery, CO2, and pulse dye laser techniques.

Dr. Abigail received his board certification in 1993 by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons as well as the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine. He has also acquired certification as a wound care specialist.

Dr. Abigail has always believed it is important to be involved in education and has been in charge of the extern rotation from podiatry schools to the Dallas area. He has also been involved with podiatry rotation for the family residency program at Baylor Medical Center of Garland. He heads and helps coordinate the surgical training rotation of residents and foot and ankle fellows from the prestigious Harris County Medical and Surgical residency program. He has lectured locally on the latest techniques in podiatric medicine and surgery. Dr. Abigail is also proud of his membership and involvement at Baylor Medical Center of Garland where he serves on various committees.

Dr. Abigail believes it is also important to give back to his profession. He has been a former Board member of the Texas Podiatric Medical Association. He founded and was past Chairman of the First Medical Guild in Texas which was instituted by Texas Podiatric Medical Association. He is past President of both the Dallas County Podiatric Medical Society and Division III of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Abigail is currently the President of Texas Podiatry Group, PLLC, which is an Independent Provider Association that serves the Metroplex.

Dr. Abigail enjoys hunting, skiing, scuba diving, and biking and hopefully watching his Dallas Stars win another Stanley Cup. Dr. Abigail is the proud father of his two children, Sean and Hannah.
